Lion
Lion is a lover! He's looking for a FOREVER HOME He's a 4-yr-old Boxer/American Bulldog mix (certified by NHS), neutered, up to date on shots and micro-chipped. He's 90 lbs of muscle and sweetness. He's a ham who loves to play and give face nibbles. Lion knows the basic commands and is happy and quick to perform them. He walks well on a leash. Because of his size, he can be a handful. An experienced bull breed owner is a must. Lion was gotten for a teenage son, and as the boy grew and started college, he's had no time for his dog. At that point Lion was pretty much neglected and didn't receive the socialization that he needed. The parents gave him up to our rescue in hopes of a better life. Lion is in the process of being house trained. He is currently in a foster rescue home until a forever home is found. He is transitioning from living full time outdoors to being comfortable indoors as well. Lion is a quick learner, and eager to please. Since he's come into rescue, he has been neutered, vaccinated, and micro chipped, and worked with a professional dog trainer for several weeks. Lion is best suited to a caregiver with no children (or children under 12). It would be best if Lion were an only dog. He has not yet been tested around cats. An adoption application, meet and greet, and home visit will apply, as well as follow up for a short time after his placement in order to assure a successful transition. Once adopted, he must be considered a family or companion dog. His adoption fee: $125.00. Lion is currently being fostered in Mills County Iowa, but applications from all areas will be considered.
